It’s going to be a peach of a month! August is designated as National Peach Month. August through mid-September is prime time for peaches. In the U.S. California produces the most peaches. Locally in the Dallas area some of the best peach ice cream served can be found at Ham’s Orchard* just off of County Road 309 in Terrell. Or pick up a good ‘ol peach cobbler made fresh and sold in the store along with other fresh produce grown on their site.Did you know that the expression “you’re a real peach” came about due to the tradition of giving a peach to a friend you liked? It’s also customary in the state of Georgia to call all the pretty little gals a Georgia Peach. If someone says to you that’s “peachy” it means something is really good or wonderful.This Texas Realtor® has a peach of a reason to celebrate August with a closing that happened on the 1st for a house that was sold twice.
